Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is game that is very limited in the decision making process, and is quite simple to understand especially to Blackjack Players since it is similar to the
game play. Your first decision is to whether you want to bet on the Banker, the Player, or on a Tie. To place a bet on the Banker’s hand, you have to move your chips in the “Banker” area. If you are betting on the Player’s hand, you have to move your chips in the “Player” area. If you are betting on a Tie, you have to move your chips in the “Tie” area.
About Baccarat and Your Objective
To draw a 2 or 3 card hand that is close to 9 than the Banker.
An Ace is counted as 1
10, Jack, Queen, and King are all counted as 0
1-9 are all face value
If your total is more than ten, you simply drop the ten. (If you have a 4 and 8, your total is 12, so you drop the ten and you have a 2 as your total) Therefore there is no such thing as a ‘Bust’.
Baccarat Rules
The Banker and Player each draw 2 cards.
- If the Player’s or Banker’s total is 8 or 9, they both automatically stand.
- If the Player’s total is 6 or 7, the Player stands.
- If the Player stands, the Banker hits on a total of 5 or less.
- If the Player’s total is 5 or less, the Player hits in which the Banker gives the Player a third card.
If the Player receives a third card, the Banker draws a third card according to the following rules:
- Banker’s Hand Total is 0, 1, or 2: Banker draws a third card.
- Banker’s Hand Total is 3: Banker draws a third card if the Player’s third card isn’t 8.
- Banker’s Hand Total is 4: Banker draws a third card is a 2-7.
- Banker’s Hand Total is 5: Banker draws a third card is a 4-7.
- Banker’s Hand Total is 6: Banker draws a third card is a 6-7.
- Banker’s Hand Total is 7: Banker stands.
Once all of the cards are dealt, the closest to 9 wins.
The
rules are always the same at every table and they'll usually have a
printed copy of the rules at the table and will give you a copy if
you ask for it. After playing the game for awhile you'll start to
remember the rules on your own, but until then here's a rundown on
how it works:
As
noted before, if the first two cards in either hand total 8 or 9,
then the game is over and the highest total wins. If the totals are
both 8 or both 9 then it's a tie and neither hand wins. For any
other total the rules have to be consulted and
it's
always the player hand that goes first. If the player hand has a
total of 6 or 7, it must stand. The only other totals it can
possibly have are 0,1,2,3,4 or 5 and for all of those totals it must
draw a card.
The object of the game
is come as close as possible to the number nine as possible. Face
cards and tens,or any combination of cards totalling ten, count as
zero. The rest of the counting system is: aces count as 1, dueces
count as 2, etc. Each hand will be dealt at least 2 cards but no
more than 3.
There is a
"Bank" and a "Player" You bet on one or the
other. When you place your bet for example, on the "Bank"
you are betting that the "Bank" will win the hand. Neither
player nor bank have an option in the card they draw. It is all
predetermined by the rules of the game and the way the cards are
counted.
Both player and bank
play a community hand, that is one hand applies to all, players
betting on one or the other, The "Bank" hand applies to
all bettors betting on the "Bank" hand and the
"Player hand applies to all players betting on the player hand.
Unlike Black Jack there are only two hands, Bank and player. In
Black Jack each player plays his/here own hand against the dealers
hand. To recap a player may bet on the "Bank" hand, the
"player" hand or on a "TIE" hand.
Winning bets are paid even money. However, a winning
"Banker" bet pays a 5% commission (sometimes 4%) which is
withheld from winnings after each such bet. If both hands result in
identical totals, the "Tie" bet wins, paying 8 to 1. When
a "Tie" occurs, all bets on the "Player" and the
"Banker" are neither paid nor taken.
Two hands, each of two
cards, are dealt, one called the Bankers and the other called the
Players. An additional card may be dealt in accordance with
the table of play shown below. The object of the game is to
bet on the hand that you believe will receive the higher total.
You may also bet that both hands are equal.
The highest hand in Mini
Baccarat is 9 and the lowest is 0. Tens, Jacks, Queens and
Kings count as 0. Aces count as 1. All other cards have
their face value. When adding the cards in each hand, only
the right hand digit is used as the hand's value. For example:
| 2
+ 3 + 6 = 11 |
the
hand value is 1 |
| 6
+ 4 = 10 |
the
hand value is 0 |
| King
+ 7 = 17 |
the
hand value is 7 |
If the first two cards dealt to either
the Banker's or the Player's hand totals 8 or 9, a Natural results
and no further cards are dealt. If the Banker's and the Player's
hands have equal value, it is a Stand-Off and the Tie bet wins.
Winning Banker's hands are paid 19 to 20 and the Tie pays 8 to 1.
Player's hands are paid even money.
